The Family of the Sacred Heart in Italy began in Nola (NA) with a group of lay people who wanted to follow the spirituality of the Congregation; later, groups also arose in northern Italy.
In the journey of the Family, training itineraries are in first place:
• two annual meetings for the whole Family: in the Mother House in March on the occasion of the anniversary of the Annunciation and in Cerro di Laveno in June
• monthly meetings that take place in the headquarters of the various groups
• the practice of the first Friday of the month: receiving God's forgiveness in the Sacrament of Confession and the Eucharist in the Holy Mass, gifts of the infinite mercy that continually flows from the pierced Heart of Christ
• the offering of one or more hours of the day following the "Pious Practice of Union with God".
• the annual Spiritual Exercises are a prolonged pause for prayer to remain in listening to the Lord and seek only His will.
• other important moments of prayer common to all Christians such as the personal encounter with Jesus in the Sunday Holy Mass, in adoration, in personal prayer and in the deepening of the Word of God.
All these moments of encounter are awaited and desired both for spiritual enrichment and for the joy of meeting in a climate of joyful and fraternal friendship.
