Blossom like a “little flowerbed in the garden of the Church”
We, "Little Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus", live our vocation of total consecration to the Lord according to the spirituality and mission entrusted to us by our Founder Monsignor Amilcare Boccio. Our Congregation is an Institute of Pontifical Right, in which the sisters take the three vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. Specially consecrated to the Heart of Christ, we offer our life to God, infinite mercy, in the "little way" of spiritual childhood and with Saint Therese of Lisieux, our first sister, we exclaim: "My vocation is Love!".
Our identity and the essential purpose of our vocation are indicated by the thought that has always dominated the life of Don Amilcare: “Lead me souls along the path of trust, help me to heal them, to strengthen them, to sanctify them in my love with the sweetness of my Mother, constantly inspiring trust”.
This is the mission to which we are called in the Church and in the world. We wish to live the following of Jesus in a spirit of prayer, sacrifice and reparation, in a growing conformation to Jesus “meek and humble of heart” to be the hidden root of the great tree of the kingdom of love. For this reason, fraternal charity, which flows from the pierced Heart of Christ, is the vital center of our spirituality, is rooted in the humble acceptance of grace and becomes the most credible testimony of the Risen Lord. Our life can be summed up in “knowing and loving, making known and loved the merciful love of Jesus” by collaborating in the apostolate of ordained ministers and offering our lives for the salvation of our brothers through our mission of pastoral, educational, welfare and social charity.
